Internal module guide. This module is now part of
@astrology/vedic; use the public package README for application setup.
transit module
Gochara (Vedic transits counted from the natal Moon sign), vedha, Sade Sati and solved transit windows. Public imports use the package root. See the package specification and task plan (V-09, V-10).
Run pnpm --filter @astrology/vedic build, check, and test after building dependencies (pnpm build:vedic builds all).
Snapshot mode
evaluateGochara(reference, movingSnapshot, rules, identity) admits the immutable reference
(sidereal, Moon sign present, identical profile, rulebook hash and Binder engine — otherwise
REFERENCE_VERSION_MISMATCH) and places each transiting body by Binder sign id from the natal Moon.
Lagna houses are informational. Vedha keeps base and effective verdicts plus the obstructing body.
Bindus are omitted unless requested and read from a supplied BAV view (null when unsupported).
Window mode
scanVedicTransits checks window, step and body limits before any read, samples a bounded grid
through ProbePort.series, then bisects every sign change to the tolerance. A change in the sign of speed
brackets stations and are subdivided so short re-entries are found. Retrograde re-entries are separate
segments and Sade Sati phases; clipped first/last segments carry startedBeforeWindow /
continuesAfterWindow. Gochara verdict and vedha tables come from the rulebook; PARASHARI_GOCHARA_RULES ships the
Phaladeepika ch. 26 tables (Rahu and Ketu follow Saturn, Sun–Saturn and Moon–Mercury exempt).
